Jubilee Wedding Themes

If you're looking for a unique theme for your wedding then why not opt to celebrate with style centered around the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? There are many ideas and ways to incorporate this special event, whether you want a subtle touch to your wedding day or a full on British party, complete with a union jack wedding dress here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

  • White, Red and Blue are not your usual wedding day colours but look so striking together. Go shopping for white wedding dresses or why not opt for a striking red wedding gown often reserved for winter or valentines weddings. Alternatively why not look for a dress which has beading, embroidery or a sash belt or bow in a red or blue colour.

  • If you have several bridesmaids you could dress them in alternative gowns of white, blue and red

  • The men in your party could wear a Union Jack tie, bow tie, or if they want to really stand out how about a cool waistcoat. For a more subtle look then simply select a colour for each of the men for a complimenting cravat and handkerchief.

  • Dress your venue out as if it's a street party complete with bunting, flags, long tables and chairs covered in jubilee shades. Use Union Jack paper plates and cups or vintage crockery. You could have a typical English tea party or a hog roast for your evening reception. Name your tables after royalty, palaces and castles or things relevant to the Queen. Shower the tables with diamond style confetti.

  • Your wedding cake could be a creation of jubilee coloured cupcakes or have you and your groom recreated as a royal cake topper.

  • Have your wedding invitations featuring diamond sequins or create your own 'Royal Crest' logo.

  • Opt for a classic wedding car in white with red leather seats decorated with huge blue bows.

  • How about a white chocolate fountain complete with a mountain of white marshmallows and red and blue dipping fruits or have a sweet station/buffet for your guests to help themselves to their old childhood favourites complete with paper bags.

  • Have songs played that were important throughout the Queens Reign such as her other jubilees and her own wedding day.

  • Your bouquet could incorporate the jubilee colours or why not go for flowers that have a royal name such as Busy Lizzies or Sweet Williams.

  • Accessorise your chosen wedding dress with jewellery, head wear or shoes in a blue or red.
