Accessories to Buy With Your Bridal Gown

Being a bride, your outfit is not just about Brooklyn bridal gowns. Sure it's the major item that is noticed when you walk on the isle but it is not the only thing that you actually need to have. The Brooklyn bridal gown is much more than the clothes. It is also about the accessories. Here are the accessories that you need to support the gown:

  • Wedding Jewelry. The jewelry should match with that of your gown. The more ornate the gown, the simpler the jewelry should be. The three jewelries: necklace, earrings and bracelets do not need be present if the gown does not allow it. For instance, if you are wearing long sleeves up to wrists, you don't have to wear bracelet. It might just go unnoticed. Also, wedding jewelries should have the same kind: all pearls, all rhinestones, all silvers and so on.
  • Hairpieces. Tiaras and hairpins for your Brooklyn bridal gown should not be left behind. The hair pieces should have the right hairstyle to match. If you pull your hair up, you can wear tiaras. But you can also use flowers and sparkling hairpins for a change. You should also consider the style of veil to use so that you can also choose the right hairstyle and hairpieces for it. For instance, a cap with veil would be enough; and you just need to pull your hair back.
  • Shoes. A pair of wedding shoes has one criterion: comfort. You cannot enjoy your big day if you are in pain or if you cannot walk straight with three inches high heels. A well-fitted, comfortable and presentable sandal is enough to walk over on the isle.
  • Lingerie - the idea of the lingerie is not for the guests but for your excited groom. A wedding lingerie is enough to make your night memorable; something that you and your husband will talk about after fifty years of marriage.

Most wedding accessories are found in salons where you also buy the Brooklyn bridal gowns. Just as you will be looking for the right design of your gown that will be appropriate for your physique, it is also good to look for accessories that will match your gown. An advice from a fashionable friend or relative may be needed to create the right match.

Something You Can Sway In

Men, picking out what you're going to wear on your wedding day is rarely your job. Usually your bride has an image of how you should look and then she marches you and your groomsmen to a tux shop. Voila, you are suddenly decked out in an outfit that fits with her dress and the theme of the wedding. But if you are a guy in charge of choosing what to wear for this big moment in your life, make sure you put some thought into it.

Location, Location, Location
It is always best to pick out your nuptial attire after you decide where and when it will occur. The next step is to discuss how formal the affair will be with your bride-to-be. Can you wear a suit with a tie, or is it a swanky ballroom setting where a tux will look best? Talk about these issues together and decide what would fit the theme.

It's All About the Dress
Do not forget to match her dress. This is so important! The first half of the wedding, everyone's eyes will be glued on your bride: know that you will not take center stage until picture time (and even then it's a crapshoot). But even so, those pictures and the entire wedding need to convey unity in the relationship. So what better way than to match up with your beautiful bride!

It might seem a little girly, but browse through some bridal magazines or online tux/suit pictures to check out what's available for formal wear. Plus, you can impress your dear fiancée with some cool formal garb terms to let her know you've been doing your homework. Be specific about what you want by making lists of what you liked and didn't like in the magazines. Ascot? Waist coat? Cummerbund? Kilt?

Team Up
If you need assistance, you and your bride can shop together for your attire. She can give you advice and you can show what clothing makes you look good and feel more at ease. Talk to your bride if you are feeling uncomfortable with her choice for your attire. If you look like a duck, and do not want to look like a duck, work with her to choose another outfit.

You can also get the whole wedding party together and head out to a place to choose similar attire. A lot of places offer group discounts for rental: if you rent all your groomsmen suits/tuxes the grooms rental is free.

Determine the Details
Discuss details of the suit or tux. Will you need a cummerbund? What kind of tie will look best with your outfit? Do you need cuff links? Think about important things that not every groom is familiar with (and check back for future blog posts on the subject!).

Do not forget shoes. Again check with your bride and the wedding theme (formal vs. informal) in order to choose what's right for your feet. On this day, be kind to your bride. If she has her heart set on you wearing polished black dress shoes and you want sneak in with your brown cowboy boots, you know you're asking for trouble. It's your wedding and you need to look presentable. Let your FW show off her gorgeous man!

Gifts That Mean More - Personalized Wedding Favors

Getting married is not only a bond between two people who love one another but a significant milestone in life. In other words, marriage is important. So why shouldn't the process of finding a gift to commemorate this union be just as important. E-weddingfavors is the perfect place to begin your search for the perfect gift. If you choose to make an unforgettable impression, the two words that should fuel your thoughts are "personalized" and "unique". An array of personalized and unique gifts can be found that will have the soon to be married couple smiling for years to come.

It is commonly believed one can't go wrong with personalized gifts. This is true. Personalized Wedding Favors give the couple constant reminders not only of their special day but also reminds them of their love for one another and their solid commitment. For instance, if the couple to be have been in love since meeting at Environmentalists Day in college, taking advantage of the Personalized Gerber Daisy Green Woven Favor Boxes or the Blooming Wildflower Seed Packets not only shows how thoughtful you are, but it shows that you, as the perfect friend, care about their being together just as much as they do and have been supporting them since day one.

Unique Wedding Favors are in a category of their own, hence the term "unique". Unique gifts give the giver confidence and pride in knowing that they chose the perfect gift and confirms they share a relationship with the groom or bride that others cannot attest to. For example, the perfect addition for the new poker room for the groom who has been an adamant poker player since he was a teenager would be the "Lucky in Love" Translucent Playing Card Bottle Stoppers. As for the shoe-crazed bride, she will smile and thank you whenever she may use her "It's a Shoe Thing" Bottle Opener. As one can see, unique gifts can be catered to the groom or bride. Your choice.

If choosing separate gifts isn't an option for you, and you would like to incorporate the thoughts of the groom as well as the bride into your gift, this is also possible. You can make sure that the vegan couple will find pleasure in thinking of one another every time they may use the "A-Peel to my Heart" Stainless Steel Peeler. Just as the couples love for one another, the options are endless. Whether it's a personalized wedding favor, or a unique wedding favor, you will feel comfortable in knowing you have contributed to the memories of the happy couple. When in doubt, be personally unique, and get them both.

We could continue and offer a laundry list of possibilities in wedding favors. But that would defeat our real purpose here. What you should understand is that wedding favors should be a unique expression of your unique selves to your unique friends. Fortunately, we've put together a collection of great, unique wedding favors and outstanding personalized wedding favors that most people have found work, in some way, with their unique collections of friends. Check out the various categories and we think you'll agree.

If you are looking for Wedding Favors or Personalized Wedding Favors, visit E-WeddingFavors who by far I have found has the best prices and the biggest selection of wedding favors & personalized wedding favors and take advantage of their free shipping.

Living in Israel - When You Know You've Stayed Too Long, Part 1

Israel is a great place to stay. I would also say it can be a great place to live and work and play. However, just sometimes life here can amaze and astound you. It's when you start taking these amazing moments for granted that you know you're in trouble...

You know you've stayed too long in Israel when...

  1. ...you're in a lift and don't even notice the guy yelling into his cell phone.
  2. ...someone says 'snack', you think: watermelon.
  3. ...you can't tell the difference between a Goldstar and a Tuborg.
  4. ...you put your luminous safety jacket (required by law to be in-car) over your car seat.
  5. ...you start supporting Brazil during a World Cup.
  6. ...you eat sabras (prickly pear), seeds n'all.
  7. ...you don't blink when handed an alcohol free cider drink.
  8. ...you start advising your host how to cook his/her barbeque meat.
  9. ...you have an amusing army anecdote and weren't even in the army.
  10. ...you think nothing about queueing to get into a coffee bar.
  11. ...you call a chocolate cake a "kushi" (black/negro) cake.
  12. ...you queue for yeasty products once Pessach breaks.
  13. ...you shout up from the street at a friend living on the fifth floor.
  14. ...you start to enjoy shoddy service and make repeat visits to a place where you are repeatedly shafted.
  15. ...your second sentence is "How much did it cost?"
  16. ...you wear flip flops to weddings.
  17. ...you even start wearing Crocs.
  18. ...you buy a Sarit Hadad disk.
  19. ...you actually play the Sarit Hadad disk a few times.
  20. ...matkot (beach tennis) is your main form of exercise.
  21. ...you talk wayyyy louder than is necessary.
  22. ...you no longer wait in line, but go immediately to the head of the queue "just to ask a question".
  23. ...all tourists look the same to you.
  24. ...open spaces make you nervous.
  25. ...you hear Wham's 'Last Christmas' in August and don't even flinch.
  26. ...you find state-employees helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.
  27. ...all your mother-in-law's friends have been plasticly enhanced.
  28. ...you think nothing of eating in the street, humus dribbling down your chin.
  29. ...you can't put a proper sentence together in your native language.
  30. ...you pay those pesky kids to clean your windows at every junction.
  31. ...you aren't aware that one is supposed to pay for software.
  32. ...a PhD in Nuclear Physics fluent in 4 languages cleans your house for a pittance but she is from the Ukraine so it's all right.
  33. ...you use the word "Nu" at least 10 times when listening to a friend's story.
  34. ...you no longer ask yourself why there are so many jeeps in this country.
  35. ...you find that it saves time to stand and retrieve your hand luggage while the plane is on final approach.
  36. ...you start clapping when the plane lands.
  37. ...you regard traffic signals, stop signs, and indicator levers with equal disdain.
  38. ...car accidents become a source of heartwarming humour.
  39. ...you forget that the other person needs to finish speaking before you can start.
  40. ...you arrive 30 minutes late for a meeting but still manage to beat the other meeting attendees.
  41. ...you ask how much people are making and expect people to answer.
  42. ...you are the last of your original group of friends still in Israel.
  43. ...your idea of a larger home is an extra 10 square meters.
  44. ...you can swear fluently in Arabic.
  45. ...you buy a thick winter coat on October 1st.
  46. ...you wear your new winter coat on October 2nd.
  47. ...your family stops asking when you'll be coming back.
  48. ...you buy a water cooler.
  49. ...you leave the plastic wrapping on your new car's seats.
  50. ...knives and forks feel, well, strange.
  51. ...you get homesick for a pita stuffed with felafel and tehina when away from Israel.
  52. ...you no longer laugh at the angles of metal scaffolding.
  53. ...you wear body hugging t-shirts to show off your love handles.
  54. ...you know enough Hebrew to make Israelis laugh their socks off.
  55. ...you've killed at least 100 cockroaches with your favourite 'killing' shoe.
  56. ...you look at the local women/men and start fantasising about Scandinavian women/men.
  57. ...you've seen Midnight Express, Hair and The Princess Bride at least 5 times each.
  58. ...you know the words to Hotel California.
  59. ...you shorten supermarket to 'super'.
  60. ...you consult your English dictionary far more than your Hebrew dictionary.
  61. ...everything seems normal.

Jubilee Wedding Themes

If you're looking for a unique theme for your wedding then why not opt to celebrate with style centered around the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? There are many ideas and ways to incorporate this special event, whether you want a subtle touch to your wedding day or a full on British party, complete with a union jack wedding dress here are a few ideas to get you thinking.

  • White, Red and Blue are not your usual wedding day colours but look so striking together. Go shopping for white wedding dresses or why not opt for a striking red wedding gown often reserved for winter or valentines weddings. Alternatively why not look for a dress which has beading, embroidery or a sash belt or bow in a red or blue colour.

  • If you have several bridesmaids you could dress them in alternative gowns of white, blue and red

  • The men in your party could wear a Union Jack tie, bow tie, or if they want to really stand out how about a cool waistcoat. For a more subtle look then simply select a colour for each of the men for a complimenting cravat and handkerchief.

  • Dress your venue out as if it's a street party complete with bunting, flags, long tables and chairs covered in jubilee shades. Use Union Jack paper plates and cups or vintage crockery. You could have a typical English tea party or a hog roast for your evening reception. Name your tables after royalty, palaces and castles or things relevant to the Queen. Shower the tables with diamond style confetti.

  • Your wedding cake could be a creation of jubilee coloured cupcakes or have you and your groom recreated as a royal cake topper.

  • Have your wedding invitations featuring diamond sequins or create your own 'Royal Crest' logo.

  • Opt for a classic wedding car in white with red leather seats decorated with huge blue bows.

  • How about a white chocolate fountain complete with a mountain of white marshmallows and red and blue dipping fruits or have a sweet station/buffet for your guests to help themselves to their old childhood favourites complete with paper bags.

  • Have songs played that were important throughout the Queens Reign such as her other jubilees and her own wedding day.

  • Your bouquet could incorporate the jubilee colours or why not go for flowers that have a royal name such as Busy Lizzies or Sweet Williams.

  • Accessorise your chosen wedding dress with jewellery, head wear or shoes in a blue or red.

The Wedding Dress Factory Outlet offers over 700 designer wedding dresses at a fraction of their retail price. For high quality discount wedding gowns, visit us at our Leicestershire store and find your perfect wedding dress.

Winter Wedding Brainstorm

So you want a crisp, brilliant, sparkling winter wedding. Sounds romantic, festive, fun... but how do you turn that idea into a reality? You really can have a winter wonderland wedding reality; it just takes a little imagination and a bit of the holiday spirit.

What to wear...

Consider a long sleeve if you'll spend any time outdoors or pair your short-sleeve, or sleeveless gown with a white fur (or faux fur) wrap or shrug. Top off your winter sparkle with a little "ice" ... diamond jewelry should complete your look. Go with an "easy-to-bustle" dress to keep your hem free of winter slush if you'll be spending any time outdoors. White is certainly crisp and beautiful, but for a more daring, vibrant look, try holiday and winter colors; reds, blues and greens can really make a stunning splash!

What to serve...

A winter feast of course! Think warm, winter comfort foods. Replace that salad course with a creamy pumpkin or squash soup or, if you simply must serve salad, top with toasted almonds or pecans and serve with a cinnamon sprinkled, cabernet poached pear and serve with warm bread and butter. Main course ideas... try a roasted chicken breast served with warm bread pudding, a grilled veal chop with winter squash and cranberry risotto, or a petit filet with giant shrimp and cilantro-lime sauce. Offer your guests warm cider, hot chocolate, or even eggnog to cap off your warm, festive occasion.

How to decorate...

Festive...festive...festive! Take advantage of the mood and joy of the holiday season and incorporate this into your occasion with the sparkling whites, silvers, reds and greens of the holiday season. String white light strands; snow spray windows and mirrors; top your cake table with a softly rumpled white cloth and sprinkle with glittery snow confetti; use pine branches, holly berries and white pillar candles for gorgeous table centerpieces; and place decorative cinnamon or pine scented candles on your gift, place card, and guestbook tables. For those extra special touches, consider an ice sculpture, creamy mint chocolate fountain, or glass or crystal snowflake ornaments to adorn each guests place setting. Who needs a glass shoe filled with dinner mints anyway!

In hosting a winter wedding, you can really take advantage of the good-natured, joyful atmosphere of the season. It takes only a little vision, a little imagination, and a lot of love. Cheers!

Wedding Dress Underskirts And Hoops

Purchasing your wedding dress is a very exciting time, but all the focus is on the dress, while many of the accessories are forgotten about. Shoes are usually remembered, and veils or other headwear, but in all the flurry of excitement you may not have given much consideration about whether or not you will need to wear a hoop or underskirt underneath your chosen gown. When you were trying on all the different dresses, you may not have given much thought to how different they can look with the right structural assistance hidden underneath, but adding a hooped underskirt to your outfit can change your wedding gown from flowing and sophisticated, to a princess style ballgown. If your dress is a few inches too long, an added benefit of the hoops is that the skirt is lifted a little higher and further away from the floor. Add in a pair of the perfectly sized heels and you may not need any alterations at all!

There are many types of hoops, petticoats and underskirts that you can purchase, usually from your bridal wear shop, while some bridal boutiques offer you the option to hire them. These are separate items worn underneath your wedding dress to help create a certain shape. Many wedding dresses have numerous layers of tulle, chiffon and other fabrics built into the skirt of the dress already, however, if you are looking to make your skirt fuller and wider, opting to wear an additional hoop or petticoat is an easy way to achieve this look.

Hoops come in various sizes. A simple rule is that the more boning they have in them, then the more dramatic and voluminous the skirt's silhouette becomes. Hoops are perfect if you envisage a large princess or ball gown style gown, while some wedding gowns just look better with an underskirt. Upon choosing your wedding dress have a chat with your bridal sales assistant, with their knowledge and expertise they will be able to guide you and explain all the types available and which would be most suitable for your type of wedding dress.

Underskirts can also help fix certain problems. If your gown is a light floaty fabric you might find that your underwear is visible, especially in certain lighting conditions. An underskirt will help solve this problem. If your wedding gown has pleats in places it shouldn't, you are finding that it is creasing in at the centre of the skirt, or the hem is folding or curling instead of sitting flat and smooth, then choosing to wear an underskirt can help the dress hang as it should and make it look like it does in the designer's photographs. Hoops and underskirts hold the wedding skirt away from the bride's legs. Many brides find walking in their gown much easier and they are less likely to trip over the skirt. They also prevent you getting hot and itchy as some brides find they can be sensitive to the netting underneath their wedding dress. Some slim fitting wedding dresses will not need an underskirt and would look better with a seam-free body stocking or similar type of underwear.

If you choose to wear an underskirt, hoop or petticoat it can have a dramatic impact on the overall length of your wedding dress. It is imperative, therefore, that you have it with you when you attend your bridal fittings so that the seamstress working on your gown can adjust the hemline as necessary. You may find that with your hoop and your shoes, your wedding dress might just be the perfect length for you!

Top 10 Reasons to Stay (and Play!) in the Poconos

10. Haven of History - History buffs will have a ball hopping from museum to museum throughout the northeast Pennsylvania area. You can start at the Packer mansions in Jim Thorpe, at the southernmost end of the Poconos, and not stop until you've experienced life on a 19th century Pennsylvania German farmstead at Quiet Valley Historical Farm, the coal region's lifeblood at the No. 9 Mine, or discovered the area's first residents at The Pocono Indian Museum. The Monroe County Historical Society houses all the local history you can handle, along with a genealogy research library. Whatever the era, the Poconos have lived to tell its story. It's yours to discover!

9. Avenues of Art - The architecture alone in the entire area is eye catching to creative souls and appreciative onlookers alike. The Poconos have long since been a haven for and an inspiration to artists of all mediums. Stroll up Jim Thorpe's historic Broadway and pop in at The Gandy Dancer to view art and photography drawn from the local scenery and history, or Anita Shapolsky Art Foundation to take in Abstract Expressionism, films, and poetry. There are many open gallery doors in between. Stroudsburg is home to Susan Bernadette Lebel. Susan is not only a professional florist that creates fairytale wedding arrangements for The Stroudsmoor Country Inn's blushing brides, she is also a gifted painter. Her nature-inspired art decorates the Auradell Gallery at the Inn, as well as many other places throughout the Poconos and Lehigh Valley.

8. Music is Everywhere - Not a day goes by without music in the Poconos. If theaters are your thing, tickets are always on sale for great acts at the Sherman Theater and Mauch Chunk Opera House. An eclectic array of musicians are always stopping by the area, from classic rock and oldies, to folk, jazz, blues, Celtic music, and hits of today. If a more relaxed atmosphere, or dancing, is what you are looking for, most taverns and restaurants in the area have weekend musicians on tap regularly. There's no shortage of live entertainment any night of the week.

7. Adventures for the Brave - Afraid of heights? Don't like getting wet? Close your eyes and keep walking. Are you young, young at heart, or in charge of keeping some youngsters busy for the weekend? Then you'll be in the right place here. Camelback has more adventure than you can imagine with their ziplines and water slides. Camelback isn't just for skiers anymore! If you are adventurous (but not that adventurous) you may choose to go horseback riding at the Inn at Pocono Manor's stables or scream around the track at a local go kart track. Jim Thorpe is home to some of the best whitewater rafting on the Lehigh. Take a kayak lesson at Northeast PA Kayak School, grab a paintball gun, or rent a boat from the Pocono Boat House. Are you the type of person to seek out the Poison Dart frogs at Bear Mountain Butterfly Sanctuary, or the one to sit in the Flutterarium allowing several species of butterflies to noiselessly land in the palm of your hand? The Pocono area is waiting to take your breath away.

6. Time for Tee - If you haven't experienced the beauty and serenity of the prime greens at the Inn at Pocono Manor or the sprawling fairways at Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort, then you haven't really golfed. The picturesque Mahoning Valley Country Club is now open to the public. A bad day on the golf course isn't really such a bad day, is it? The Poconos are home to some of the most manicured and breathtaking courses in Pennsylvania...and they are waiting for you.

5. Let the Festivities Begin - All of this relaxing and beauty is enough to make someone want to celebrate. Luckily, the Poconos are always celebrating. The town of Jim Thorpe celebrates its namesake's birthday every May, along with Earth Day, Fall Foliage, St. Patrick's Day and an Olde Time Christmas. Halloween brings ghost walks and haunted mines, and horrifyingly haunted woods and mansions. Stroudsburg has notable parades, art festivals, car shows, and carnivals. Keep an eye on local newspapers and websites for full schedules. Most festivals are held in downtown common areas, resorts, and ski hills where they are hard to miss. The Poconos celebrate everything from the Blues, to wine, to garlic, to being Irish for a day!

4. Shop Til You Drop - Nothing compares to finding the perfect item in a unique shop in a quaint town. Stopping in at Josephine's Fleur-de-lis on Main Street in Stroudsburg, you'll find the most meaningful jewelry or home décor item to remember your visit. Dunkelberger's offers women a chance to find the perfect ensemble to wear for a weekend outing while its adjoining outfitter shop will keep any significant other distracted by outdoor gear just long enough. Josephine's, Dunkelberger's, and many other boutiques offer specialty items you can't find just anywhere. The shopping district on Stroudsburg's bustling main street often offer shoppers special deals, unique treats, and rare deals just to thank you for shopping local. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes. Once you start, you won't want to stop.

3. Nature Calls - People move to the Poconos to get away. Tourists visit the Poconos to get away. You need a getaway! There is a state park or environmental center everywhere you turn. Mountains loom on one side of you, a lake, river, or stream flows on the other, no matter where you go. You can't help but breathe deeper, smile broader, and relax. Hike to the highest lookout or pull up a picnic bench and your favorite book. If you're lucky, you'll spot a deer, fox, raccoon, bird, or even a bear. What could be better? You can visit the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau or Department of Conservation and Natural Resources to find a place to hike or camp. If enjoying nature on a more permanent basis is what you are looking for, you can call Commonwealth Real Estate Your Way or Pocono Mountain Lakes Realty to point you in the right direction.

2. Most Comfortable Places to Hang - Your Hat All of that shopping and adventure will make you want to stay just one more day. There is no lack of hospitality when you need a place to stay for the night. Most resorts and hotels in the Poconos offer their guests so much, visitors don't even need to leave the property. Stroudsmoor Country Inn is a popular wedding destination with a very romantic atmosphere offering special dinners and packages, while the Inn at Pocono Manor and the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort offer many activities and amenities to keep you busy and boast sprawling grounds and beautiful architecture. Bed & Breakfasts adorn the Jim Thorpe area. Take a step in to a different era at the Inn at Jim Thorpe, or hop across the pond and feel like English royalty at Hillcrest. If you can handle a rustic accommodation, Jim Thorpe Camping and many state parks offer space to park your RV or pop up your tent. The Poconos just beg you to stay...

There's just one thing left to do before you leave the Poconos...

1. Eat, Drink, & Be Merry! - I have yet to have a meal at a Pocono restaurant I did not enjoy. This area is rich in vineyards, bistros, taverns, pubs, fine restaurants, diners, and hole-in-the-wall local secrets. If you'll be stopping in town, there are two things you do not want to miss; dinner at Andrew Moore's Stone Bar Inn and a martini at Liquid. Each offers such a sophisticated and unique atmosphere with truly fantastic menus. Put them on your list, but also give the local specialties a try. Crave at 66 Broadway in Jim Thorpe offers the area a rare option: an authentic Absinthe bar. Give it a whirl and stay to munch, or wander down the street for an eclectic array of options from Irish, to Tex Mex, to local organic. Chances are, you'll leave full and happy. (If you do actually decide to leave...)

The Pocono Mountains have so much to do and see all year round. Here is a round up of the best of the best of what to do and see in the Poconos. Visit http://www.PoconoMap.com for what to do and see in the Pocono Mountains

What to Wear to a January Wedding

The winter months are not considered high wedding season, but people get married at all times of the year. Figuring out what to wear to an out-of-season wedding can sometimes be confusing for guests, because your favorite go-to outfit for a summer wedding will probably not be a viable option for a winter wedding. Learn what to wear to a January wedding that will be seasonal, festive, and stylish.

People tend to find dressing for a holiday wedding to be less confusing than dressing for one in January or February, because most of us are used to dressing up for holiday parties, and the stores are full of great party outfits. The first tip that I could give any woman searching for a fabulous outfit to wear to a January wedding is to shop before Christmas when the stores well-stocked with special occasion wear. If you wait until January to shop, you may find little more than heavy sweaters and the early cruise or resort collections. There is little difference between dressing for a holiday wedding and one in January or February.

The fun part about dressing for a January wedding is that you can still wear the sparkle, fur, silks, velvets, and other luxurious fabrics which are popular around the holidays. Just do not dress in head to toe black, even if that is what you would wear for a Christmas or New Year's party. A festive dress is always stylish. Look for one in a gorgeous fabric, such as black lace over a nude lining, silk taffeta, or satin. Avoid the temptation to pull that summery organza or chiffon dress from your closet, because it will look out of season. Special details will help to make your dress even more festive. A satin bow at the waist, a sequined border around the neck, or a fur collar will set you apart from the crowd.

There tend to be a lot of festive separates in the stores during the winter months, and you can definitely build a gorgeous outfit to wear to a January wedding out of these pieces. Sparkle is big this year, and a blush colored sequin top would be a fabulous piece around which to create a chic ensemble. Pair it with velvet trousers, a silk satin pencil skirt, or a silk shantung evening suit to complete the look. A sequined top would be just the right amount of sparkle to wear to a January wedding; an all-over sequin dress would be fabulous for New Year's Eve, but too much for a wedding, because no guest should ever appear to be in competition with the bride. Other great separates around which you could base an outfit include a fitted velvet jacket, a tartan taffeta skirt, or a ruffled silk blouse.

The wedding accessories you choose will be very important in pulling together your outfit to wear to a January wedding. Your everyday silver earrings or pearl studs will not cut it for such a festive occasion. Go for sparkle in your wedding jewelry - crystal earrings, lots of Swarovski bracelets, and a pendant to match the crystal earrings. Hair accessories are huge this year, so consider treating yourself to a headband adorned with a spray of feathers and crystals or a silk bow. As for shoes, choose either silk or jeweled footwear. If high heels are not your thing, you are in luck, because there are a huge number of sequined, glittered, and jeweled flats in the stores this year. Pick out a cute little evening bag to complement your shoes (it need not be an exact match), and of course be sure to wear a warm wrap. A velvet jacket, fur shrug, or pashmina will help to keep you cozy and comfortable, especially since so many dressy styles are sleeveless, even in the winter. With all the details in place, you will be sure to look spectacular when you attend the wedding in January!

Looks does matter in today's competitive world. But you also need to know the right way to dress up. When it comes to your wedding, special importance should be given to your looks. From costume, shoe, jewelry to make up, everything needs to be perfect. After all, you need to look the best in your special day. Selecting the right costume for your wedding is essential.

Jewelry plays an important role in making you look beautiful. Most of the brides love to adore themselves with stylish jewelries. There are varieties of jewelries. From gold, silver to white gold jewelries, you can find every item in almost all the jewelry stores. All these types of jewelries are liked by people. Women have special fascination for gold jewelries. But the increase in the price of gold jewelries has been a frustrating issue for many brides. They are selecting cheaper options, like silver and white gold. They cost less than the gold and platinum jewelries. These jewelries are attractive and come in a variety of designs and style. If you have tight budget, you can definitely opt for these types of jewelries.

The popularity of white gold jewelries has increased to a great extent. Many women are showing interest in buying this type of jewelry items over others. They come in a wide variety of designs and styles. The best part is that, they are less expensive than the gold and platinum jewelries. You can get luminescent trendy look with this type of jewelries. They add beauty and color to your personality, thereby making you more attractive. You can spend more bucks in buying different types of white gold jewelries, which would be difficult in case of gold jewelries.

While buying them, you should keep in mind that these ornaments are not long lasting. Apart from that, they require enough maintenance. You need to put much effort in maintaining its beauty and color. Another disadvantage of white gold jewelry is that they can cause irritation in some cases. A Wedding Planning Guide For The Bride

So you have made it to the wedding planning stage, congratulations! Now that you have set a date you need to start getting everything together that you will need for the big day. You need to take it in steps so that you won't be overwhelmed; you know eat the elephant one bite at a time!

Some of the things you need to plan are what kind of dress, make up, your hairstyle, what kind of jewelry, and other things that you want included in your special day. There are lots of helpful resources available to help you with the planning stage of your wedding, especially online, plus you can pick up some wedding and bridal magazines.

When you are choosing a wedding dress don't just choose it because it looks pretty on the model. Your wedding dress should be something that you really like, but it should also go with your body type as well. Choose a wedding dress that accentuates the positive aspects and minimizes any negatives. Look at a lot of different styles before making a choice. Take a friend along, or better yet make it a fun event and take several friends or your sisters and go make a day of it. When you find a dress you like, try it on and make sure it isn't too tight. You want it to fit well and still be comfortable and be able to move around so that you will be able to dance and have fun at the reception afterwards!

After you have chosen a dress that you are happy with you have to find a pair of shoes that will look good with it. If you are going with the traditional look of a white wedding dress then you will want some sort of white shoe. The exact type of shoe is a personal preference. You can choose everything from a shoe that is like a ballet slipper to sandals, to a pump. I do recommend however that if you are very tall, not to wear a heel. The length of the dress you have chosen will have a lot to do with the decision of shoes as well.

Now that you have covered the main parts of your wedding day wardrobe, you may want to add some customization to your apparel to personalize it a bit. One excellent way of doing this is by accessorizing with jewelry. The jewelry should accentuate your wedding dress and not draw attention away from it as the dress should be the focal point. A nice necklace and earrings and possibly something woven into your hair will do nicely. Remember not to wear any rings at all other than your wedding ring that you will receive on your big day.

Hair, Makeup, and Nail Tips For Your Wedding

Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. The last thing you need on your wedding day is something to go wrong. With proper planning, your wedding day should run smoothly and without major tragedy. Whether you choose to hire a makeup and hairstylist for your day or select to do it yourself, you should plan on a wedding day test run for your hair, makeup and nails. Here are some tips to help your wedding day run smoother.

1) Never get a haircut or drastically change your hair immediately before your wedding. If you want a completely new look, plan to experiment months before your wedding day. If your planning on highlights, color or a drastic cut, get the initial style several months before and have maintenance done a week or two before the big day.

2) Schedule a test run a few weeks before the wedding day for hair, makeup and nails. This will ensure your stylist knows exactly what you want, and you will know exactly how you want to look. Plan on bringing your tiara, headpiece and/or veil with you to the test run, so you will know how your hair looks with all its accessories.

3) Your makeup should be timeless and classic. If you are having an evening wedding, you may want to play up one particular feature such as your eyes or lips, but not both. Years after your wedding you will want to look at your wedding pictures and say how beautiful you looked, not how awful the trend was for raccoon eyes.

4) Your nails should also be timeless and classic. Think subtle pinks, ivory, or peach. A French or American manicure is also a safe bet. But if you are having a red themed wedding, and you really want red nails, by all means do it, but realize they will stand out against your attire. If you are planning a specific color for nails, get them done before a wedding dress fitting, so you will be able to see how your nails will look next to your dress.

5) Indulge and get a pedicure before your wedding. Many brides will opt to match their toenails to their fingernails, but if you are wearing closed toe shoes, you can opt for something funky, such as blue to match the old tradition of "something blue".

6) Never wear strong perfume on your wedding day. Some people may be allergic, and under the stress of your big day, perfume can cause a headache.

7) Make sure you pack your purse to include: lipstick, a mirror, a brush, tissues, aspirin, and breath mints.

The Sneaky Plan to Getting That Ring

The old saying 'diamonds are a girl's best friend' is true on so many levels. They always shine at the right time, they complement all your outfits, they never talk back, they are always deemed elegant and never inappropriate and without hidden agendas, they only seek to impress and make you feel good. They really are perfect.

What makes them even more irresistible is when someone else, that someone special, buys them for you. Sure, you can drop hints but is that really enough? If not, we have devised a sneaky little plan that should help you to get him what you want.

  • Be happy - we all love spending time with fun, happy and positive people and he is no exception so make a concerted effort to be just that. Try to keep your conversation on track with positive, uplifting and pleasant topics.
  • Send him love - ditch the long love letters and embrace modern technology. Think flirty emails, cheeky messages on post-it notes or send him what Mr Big would refer to as a 'love fax'. He'll love the fact that you're thinking about him even when he's not with you.
  • Make an effort around the house - this doesn't mean that you need to fill his mum's shoes, but it does mean that you need to clean up after yourself and him (on occasions!). Go on, put a load of washing on, give the house a once over and the bathrooms a little scrub - he will love that you for it.
  • Buy him small gifts - everyone loves being spoilt and feeling special. Next time you're at the shops, pick up a box of his favourite chocolates, that book he has been waiting to read or a six-pack of his favourite beer.
  • Don't give him unnecessary grief - adopt the mantra that 'boys will be boys' and with that there are some things you just won't understand like going to the worst pub in town to watch games of football every Friday night during the football season. Don't stress it, pick your battles and let him be one of the boys. In most instances, your easy going attitude will make him want to come home to you earlier anyway.
  • Take matters into your own hands - let's face it, men seriously lack organisational skills. They have memories like goldfish, rarely write things down and cannot multi-task. This calls for action - start planning all those little things he just hasn't gotten around to. Book his overdue dentist appointment, get the washing machine fixed and starting planning that holiday - he will appreciate the newfound organisation you bring to his life.
  • Be one of his mates - think about all the great things your best friend does for you and bring them to your relationship. Spend time with him and his friends and be supportive.
  • Surprise him with spontaneous dates - ensure that you put aside quality time for two. Take him out to dinner and the movies, cook his favourite meal or spend a day out together doing something you know he loves.

With this strategy, how can you go wrong?

In a little while you should be on your way to unwrapping that bow, opening that box and shrieking with delight at that gorgeous diamond ring. After all Christmas is just around the corner. And if all that fails, buy one of the rings yourself. If you ask us, it's money well spent on a good best friend like that. After all, 'diamonds are forever'.

Planning Your Perfect Wedding and Your Perfect Marriage - What You Get From Spoiling Your Partner

If all goes according to plans and to your very hard work, you are creating a fabulous wedding ceremony and reception at the end of which, thanks to your heartfelt wedding vows, you will be married to your partner. Wow. From being not too far on the other side of that benchmark, I have to say to you that it's a fairly monumental thing!

But getting from engagement to marriage is not a straightforward or easy task! There are mind-numbing details and obstacles you had no idea could pop up. Hmm. Wow, so your cousin three times removed wants to be a junior bridesmaid, but I've told my sister/brother that she/he can't stand up with me? It happens. Every marriage has at least one story.

And the list of other things you have to do while you're moving through this planning process is long: you have to work, you have to maintain your house, you have to maintain your health, you have to maintain your partnership, and because you're about to ask an awful lot of them, it's helpful if you can spend some time maintaining your friendships. And now Wedding Priestess is going to give you another thing to do.

I'm going to suggest that each of you practice spoiling one another. Here's the catch about spoiling your partner" You need to know what they like or it's not spoiling. That's energy that doesn't give you anything except perhaps resentment. Deep curiosity and careful listening is the key to good spoiling.

How about this? Why not try, for just one week to do one thing a day that spoils your partner? Give your partner a magazine he or she loves and do a chore that will give them 20 minutes to sit and leaf through it. Give a footrub. Draw a bath. Polish his or her shoes. Order a favorite lunch delivered to his or her work. (pay attention here, if he or she is dieting, spaghetti and chocolate cake are not going to win you any points!) Straighten up the closet. Here are the things you need to remember about spoiling.

  1. This is something that he or she doesn't need to exist.
  2. It doesn't need to be huge, in fact, it's more fun if it's just a little something.
  3. Make it a surprise.
  4. Give it with an open heart. Don't begrudge this, don't be mad if your partner can't reciprocate. (Although if you do it long enough he or she will get the knack.) Do it because you're so overwhelmed with joy to be marrying your sweetie beloved.

If you make this a practice during the wedding planning period, it will keep both of you focused on your delight in one another. That means when you're dragging through the mire of details, you'll be able to stop and giggle because a flower showed up on your vanity in the bathroom or 6 new pairs of sweatsocks with no holes were suddenly in your drawer. Then you go back to the job refreshed. The work will be much more creative and the results splendid.

And then, throughout your marriage, continue the practice. Put it on your calendar if you're forgetful. "Spoil beloved today." Call up and leave our wedding song on her answering machine. Read an article about something that interests him, and email the link to him. This kind of thoughtfulness will make you a great spouse. And that will keep you married a long time!

Bottom Line?: Give your relationship the chance it deserves to succeed wildly, against all odds! After all, you deserve it. Your relationship deserves it!
